Project "Bee-Sharing"

Environmental protection and "BEE-SHARING" at Lüdecke

The LÜDECKE Park has been buzzing now for over 6 years.
These are the hard-working bee colonies of our “Bee-Sharing” project. With this unique concept, LÜDECKE has been successfully highlighting the importance of beekeeping since 2016 now.

Bee decline:
This topic has been discussed many times in the recent past and should continue to play an important role in the future.
Because bees provide us with more than just honey – they play a central role in the preservation of our ecosystem. Without the pollination of flowering plants by bees and other insects, the cultivation of most types of fruit and vegetables would not be possible. They also help to preserve biodiversity, because they ensure the spread of numerous plants, which in turn serve as food for countless animal species.
In fact, more than half of all wild bee species in Germany are threatened or already extinct. The decline in bee species can have a dramatic impact on biodiversity and food production.
But how can you counteract this?

Help by „Bee-Sharing“
So-called “bee-sharing” offers a possibility. This way, bee colonies can be used and propagated in urban locations – ideally, this is how a collaboration between companies and professional beekeepers takes place. Our 5 bee colonies are supervised by our own beekeeper.
The result of the work is impressive: In addition to happy bees and excellent honey, the trees in the LÜDECKE Park also carry a large amount of fruit – which in turn means wonderful apple juice for the employees.

By the way, the „Bee-Sharing“ project is an „admirable“ collaboration, that was awarded the environmental prize from the City of Amberg
